Join SWOP’s Project Feed the Hood this Earth Day, April 21st from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.  to celebrate the International District Community Garden’s 2012 Opening Day! Taking place at the International District Community Garden, on the corner of Wellesley and Ross (see below flyer for exact location), we will build scarecrows, plant seeds, have speeches, raise the International District Community Garden sign, and prepare for the oncoming growing season! Following the Opening event, from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m., there will be a “Healthy Earth, Healthy Communities” Celebration at Kirtland Elementary School, only a short walk away! Included in the free festivities are food, gardening workshops, fitness activities, health information, cooking demonstrations, an Earth day drum circle, and many more fun events!
